Real Sociedad star eyeing €40m Premier League move

Martin Zubimendi is planned for a switch to the Premier League this summer, and he could be followed by one of his real Sociedad teammates. Arsenal will be the destination for the Spanish midfielder, but for Takefusa Kubo it still has to be determined where he will end.

Kubo, who has previously rejected a move to Saudi Arabia, is connected to a move this summer after the failure of La Real to qualify for a European competition for next season. And if he gets his way, a switch to the Premier League could be in his near future.

As reported by Florian Plettenburg, Kubo has attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs, some of whom have asked about his availability during this summer's transfer window.

The approaching sale of Zubimendi to Arsenal means that La Real is not desperate to sell despite missing European football for next season, but they accept open for a deal for Kubo. Although he has a release clause of € 60 million, they are willing to have him leave for a fee in the region of € 30-40 million. It must also be reminded that half of the reimbursement would go to Real Madrid, because they have a 50% clause.

Kubo was previously associated with Liverpool, but given that Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract with the Premier League champions, it would be a surprise to see them taking a step this summer. Anyway, there is interest from England and in the coming weeks it must be known which clubs are watching the Japanese international.

It would be a blow to La Real to lose Kubo this summer, even if he struggled for shape during the 2024-25 season. It is still to see if he is going, but for now there are opportunities for him to leave.
