Bayern Munich have become increasingly confident in the past month that they can keep Alphonso Davies despite interest from Real Madrid, despite the fact that he can now sign a pre-contract with Los Blancos. His future reaches a fork in the road.
Sources in Germany described last week that a new Bayern contract for Davies was 'on the verge' of happening. The Athletic confirms that agent Nedal Huoseh was in Munich for talks last week, with further talks expected to take place this week.
While optimism is waning in the Spanish capital, they do say that if Real Madrid want to secure Davies' signature, they will have the chance to be heard by Huoseh and Davies again before a deal is concluded, an opening that applies to any of his other suitors.
However, making a better offer would contradict Real Madrid's strategy so far. After agreeing terms in March 2024, they more or less waited until Davies' contract expired after determining they didn't want to negotiate a fee. The word from the Spanish capital is that they will not increase their proposal, which seems destined to lead to a new deal at Bayern.
