Reason Man Utd did not sign Geovany Quenda ‘revealed’

Manchester United reportedly never made an offer for Geovany Quenda before Chelsea agreed to sign the winger of Sporting Lisbon.

Chelsea corresponded to a fee of £ 42 million for Quenda, 17, and he will become a member of the Portuguese club in a seven -year -old deal in the summer.

But after forcing his time, Chelsea stepped in with which reports called a “secret Blitz” to land the right wing, who can also play a wingback.

Quenda underwent private medical and agreed to participate after he was impressed by Enzo Maresca's vision for the West -London giants.

But the news from Manchester Evening has since invalidated the theories that he has agreed United for Chelsea.

Allegedly, United met the influential agent Jorge Mendes in November, because his agency was instructed to negotiate on behalf of Quenda.

But United's interest did not expand further than informal discussions.

A source that was familiar with the conversations said that United's preference was to wait to sign Quenda.

And the addition of the middle season of Patrick Dorgu, a colleague-left-wing player, influenced the importance of the Red Devils.

Quenda was again called to the Portugal team for their Nations League Double header against Denmark this month.

But Chelsea fans will have to wait more than a year to see their new husband in action.

Quenda, which will turn 18 next month, will continue to go into sport in the 2025-26 season before he connects his new Stamford Bridge Pals in July 2026.

The left foot has already played 35 times this season for sports, including huge Champions League matches, which only score once.

But instead he will become a member of colleague Wonderkids Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez – who will become a member this summer – in West -London.

Quenda came to Sporting in 2019, only 13 years old, with Amorim on board a year later.
