Regarding the controversial decisions in the stopping time of the Copa del Rey -final, referee -expert Barrechechea Montero shared his opinion with Marca.
In the last moments of the regular time, Ferran Torres was polluted by Rudiger in the box, but the referee did not give in a penalty and did not intervene.
Shortly thereafter, Raphinha was knocked down by Raul Asensio in the box. The referee initially admitted a penalty, but after the revision of VAR the decision was destroyed.
Referee Barrechea Montero noted: “Raphinha did die, but the fall of Ferran Torres was a clear punishment.”
