City is about to secure a double signature, with AC Milan's Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki from Lyon, this summer, at the side that pushes to a title next season, after a terrible campaign that saw Guardiola ended the campaign without a large trophy and far behind champion Liverpool.
The 26-year-old will be Guardiola's first signing of the season while on Wednesday he spoke with football zone and other Dutch media about the approaching movement and if he is afraid of losing part of his playing style as many believe that winger did Jack Grealishe after leaving Aston Villa.
“I can't say anymore. I am still an AC Milan player and I have to respect that. I also wait to see what the clubs will do.
“Am I afraid that the 'freedom' in my game will be lost under Guardiola? We have to wait and see if that happens,” says Reijnders. “There is always room for development, in every respect, especially as a midfielder. There are so many things that you can develop. I can become a more complete midfielder if the deal continues.”
The 26 -year -old was also asked about the departing Kevin De Bruyne who joined Napoli and if he has viewed him a lot in his younger days.
“I learned a lot from how he looks at the field before he receives the ball. My father pointed to me and I started to pay attention to him from that moment on.
“When you look out, you give yourself a lot more time. Now I apply that in every game. De Bruyne is a great player. If you look at Manchester City, I think the first thing you are looking at is De Bruyne.”
The Club World Cup starts on June 14 and Guardiola identified Reijnders as a suitable replacement for De Bruyne in what will be one of the strongest middle fields in the competition, especially when Rodri recovers from his ACL injury he picked up last season.
