Morgan Gibbs-White reportedly called Tottenham boss Thomas Frank to apologize after a dramatic U-turn led to the midfielder signing a new contract in Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham had believed that they had activated a release clause in the Gibbs-White contract by making an £ 60 million bid on 10 July.
A medical was booked for the international English international, but the move was stopped dramatically when Forest threatened to report Spurs to the Premier League for an alleged 'illegal' approach.
The anger of Forest came from the question of whether a confidentiality agreement in the release clause had been violated.
Gibbs-White, who had been enthusiastic about a move to Tottenham, eventually agreed to the club in a new three-year contract in Nottingham Forest that it described as a 'record deal'.
The deal is supposed to have more than doubled its previous £ 60,000 a week.
According to athletics, Gibbs-White called Tottenham boss Frank to apologize for how the situation had happened.
Frank reportedly told the midfielder that an apology was not necessary, despite the disappointment of Tottenham by the decision of Gibbs-White to change thoughts and bind to Bos by signing a new deal.
Daily Mail Sport previously reported how forest owner Evangelos Marinakis had flown to the Forest training camp on the Algarve to have one-on-one conversations with Gibbs-White
In addition to offering Gibbs-White a new contract, Marinakis promised to offer continuous investments in the club, including in the team, stadium and training facilities.
Forest then brought Ndoye from Bologna into a relocation of £ 34 million this summer, while the Brazilian duo Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha had since arrived from Botafogo for a combined £ 27 million.
Daily Mail Sport reported on Thursday that Forest agreed to increase more than £ 90 million to three signing sessions prior to the start of the season.
Forest has offered £ 37.5 million for Ipswich Town Winger Omari Hutchinson and closes a £ 26 million deal for Rennes Forward Arnaud KalimeUndo.
They also finish details about a package of £ 30 million for Midfielder James Mcate from Manchester City.
The Tottenham's move for Gibbs-White had come fresh after he concluded a deal for Mohammed Kudus, while Frank looked to add creativity to his new club.
Since then, Spurs have had the extra blow of losing James Maddison, with the midfielder to miss most of the season after an ACL injury.
