Revealed: How bad Man City’s form REALLY is as stats show their decline amid run of five consecutive defeats
Statistics have shown how bad Manchester City's current form really is.
City are used to winning the vast majority of their games, but in an unexpected turn of events they have now lost their last five consecutive games in all competitions.
The latest defeat for Pep Guardiola's side came on Saturday when they lost 4-0 at home to Tottenham in the Premier League.
City were also beaten by Tottenham in the Carabao Cup last month before suffering losses to Bournemouth, Sporting and Brighton.
City last lost six games in all competitions in April 2006, while they last lost seven in a row in December 1960, which is their longest losing run.
Data from Stats Perform shows that City expected a total of 9.79 goals in the last five games, compared to 29.96 in the first fourteen games of the campaign.
Furthermore, City have scored 0.80 goals per game in the last four games, compared to 2.29 per game in the first fourteen games.
City have also been vulnerable at the other end of the pitch, conceding an average of 2.80 goals per game in their last four games, while conceding just 0.79 goals per game in the fourteen games that preceded them.
Additionally, City's expected goals conceded rate for the last four games is 2.12 per game, compared to 0.83 per game in the first fourteen games.
During this run, City averaged just 4.80 shots on target per match, while previously they averaged 7.29 shots on target per match.
City are back in action on Tuesday evening when they host Feyenoord in the Champions League.
Guardiola's team will then play against Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
