Bayern Munich may be aimed at winning the club World Cup this summer, but behind the scenes, internal frustration is mounting – and it has little to do with events on the field.
The side of Vincent Kompany has recovered the Bundesliga title of Bayer Leverkusen this season and will now shift their focus to next month's club.
Bayern starts their campaign after the season in Cincinnati against Auckland City on 15 June, followed by Boca Juniors in Miami on June 21 and closes the group phase against Benfica in Charlotte on 24 June.
However, some club staff have been left frustrated after they have been told that they will not travel with the team due to cost -saving measures – even though the families of players are flown at the expense of the club.
In the latest episode of Bild's Podcast, Christian Falk and Tobias Altschäffl revealed the growing dissatisfaction behind the scenes in the club.
Falk revealed: “The families of the players are invited.”
Altschaffl added: 'There is a whole week where families can come. I think that after a stressful season, with many hectic schedules, their families around them may have. '
Falk then explained: 'You have to say that a few employees were irritated. They save costs everywhere, so only a small group of employees can continue, but the families do. '
The cost -saving measures would have been taken by sports director Max Eberl, a directive to reduce squadrone costs by 20 percent.
The affected are among other things middle management, staff at a lower level and matchday stewards of who many people stay behind when the team goes to the US
Among those who have covered their expenses by Bayern, the wife of Harry Kane, Katie Goodland – despite the fact that the striker reportedly earns £ 400,000 a week.
Nevertheless, Bayern Boss Kompany gave sights this summer when winning the club World Cup.
“I think the closer we get to the tournament, the more you can see the excitement grow,” said Kompany in March.
'It has been a pretty special season so far. You have the new format of the Champions League and you have the next competition with the Club World Cup.
“You know, I think we are part of a club with Bayern Munich, where every trophy is important, so by the time we come to America, it will be a priority.”
