Revealed: Real Madrid’s biggest concern is not Carlo Ancelotti or Kylian Mbappe
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will meet with president Florentino Perez to discuss the team's situation following a difficult defeat to Liverpool. However, Ancelotti is not their main concern at the moment.
As manager and face of the team, it is no surprise that Ancelotti is the center of criticism, and some of it is undoubtedly justified. The same goes for star forward Kylian Mbappé, who has struggled to show his best form in the opening stages of his Real Madrid career. However, Cadena SER has explained that Los Blancos are most concerned about their current fitness and injury record.
The club has seen half its squad disappear in just 20 games, and is currently averaging almost one injury per game. Fitness coach Antonio Pintus has been praised in the past, but last month the first concerns from the dressing room about his working methods reached the press, and now they appear to have reached the boardroom.
With an already thin squad, Ancelotti has been dealt a heavy hand. Without Dani Carvajal, David Alaba or Eder Militao at the back, with Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Rodrygo Going in and out with injuries, and with Vinicius also in the background, it is difficult to imagine many managers coming from that series and joining perform the expectations. Yet the form before the injury crisis is hardly impressive,
