Revealed: The Premier League fixture where Thomas Tuchel will make first scouting trip as England manager this weekend

Thomas Tuchel's first scouting assignment as official England head coach will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.

Mail Sport can reveal that the England boss will attend Saturday afternoon's match between Spurs and Newcastle, where he hopes to see Dominic Solanke, James Maddison, Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall.

Tuchel will watch the Premier League match from the director's box as he begins to think about his squad for his first games against Latvia and Albania in March.

The former Chelsea boss is also expected to feature for Liverpool against Manchester United on Sunday, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Jarrell Quansah, Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire hoping to impress.

The former Chelsea boss has appointed fitness coach Nicolas Mayer to his staff, alongside assistant Anthony Barry, goalkeeping coach Henrique Hilario and analyst James Melbourne.

Mayer has been working with Tuchel, who will hold a series of meetings at St George's Park next week, with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

Tuchel formally started work on January 1 and became Gareth Southgate's permanent successor by signing an 18-month contract.

Meanwhile, Villa Park is emerging as a candidate to host England's match against Andorra in September.

The qualifying match on September 6 cannot be played at Wembley because it clashes with a Coldplay concert.

But Aston Villa are among the options the Football Association is considering for the game.
