Revealed: The Premier League players walking disciplinary tight-rope

While we enter the business end of the season, fans will hope that their clubs will fit all their players and are available for potential crunch matches.

Although Liverpool has one hand on the title, there is still a chance that they can be caught by Arsenal, while the race of Europe and the survival of the competition is very alive.

There is enough to play for – with fewer than 10 games left – and all eyes will be at the midweek matches that take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

However, a number of players have to manage their temperatures in those luminaires – given the enormous amount of stars that can get a suspension of two games, if they still pick up a booking.

The rules state that if a player accumulates 10 yellow cards, these will be suspended for two games. However, those cards must be picked up in the first 32 races of the campaign on their part.

As it looks now, there are currently three players – Will Hughes, Matheus Cunha and Anthony Gordon – who are excluded for this week's matches.

Wolves star Cunha will miss a further match – his side to Ipswich – after his ban was extended for 'punching and headbutting' Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez.

Away from the already forbidden stars, however, there are a whole lot of players who run a disciplinary tight rope while we enter the last part of the season.

The will of Ryan Christie, Antoine Semenyo, Moises Caicedo, Joelinton, Liam Delap and Flynn Downes are at the forefront with nine yellow cards each.

Noticeable, there are two Bournemouth stars in the mix, with their front foot playing style that turns out to have come to a costs if they enter into a crucial part of the campaign.

A step behind his Morgan Rogers, Sam Morsy, Boubakary Soumare, Manuel Ugarte, Dan Burn, Nicolas Domínguez, Ryan Yates and Tomas Soucek.

They are all on eight yellow cards and are only two conditions from missing two games in the competition campaign.

Rogers, Ugarte and Burn would all turn out to be huge losses for their respective parties like them

In the meantime, a larger group of players – including Darwin Nunez, Harry Maguire, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Paqueta and Jurrien Timber – has all received seven yellow cards.

Nunez's ruthless pressing has made him a handful of defenders, but his aggressive approach has brought him more into the referee's book than most attackers.

Maguire and Timber, both important defensive figures, are often booked for tactical errors and physical fights.

Bentancur's return from an injury has been important for Spurs, although his discipline will have to improve if he has to remain available.

Paqueta, known for its flair and creativity, has also been guilty of failed tackles and dissidence.

With the last part of the season approaches, discipline will be the key. Teams fighting for titles, European places or survival will need these players to stay on the right side of referees – or run the risk of missing crucial games when they are most needed.
