Revealed: The Scott McTominay stat that puts struggling Man United stars to SHAME as £26m star scores again for Napoli

Scott McTominay brought his series a goal post to eight for the season after inspiring Napoli to a comfortable 3-0 win over Empoli.

The Scottish star scored an excellent opener before doubling his count in the second half, while the ex-manchester United midfielder continues to show what his former club is missing.

The current crop of United is guaranteed the worst of the club in the Premier League history, because they were hammered 4-1 on Sunday by Newcastle in another miserable outing.

The two goals of MCTominay on Monday evening ensure that the 2024-25 campaign will be his highest score of his career and also created a statistics that are ashamed of the wrestling stars of Ruben Amorim.

No player has more competition goals than the 28 -year -old – who left Old Trafford for Napoli in a deal worth £ 25.7 million last summer – this season.

United Captain Bruno Fernandes also has eight in the competition, but he is the only member of Amorim's team with as much as Mctominay.

The injured Amad Diallo is the next best League artist from United with six, for Alejandro Garnacho on five.

Scoring Doelen has been a consistent problem for United Under Amorim, because they have only found it 38 times in the competition.

McTominay is now enjoying an excellent first campaign in Italy. The 28-year-old has become an integral part of the side of Antonio Conte while haunting the Serie A title.

It is generally assumed that Erik ten Hag wanted to keep Mctominay, but the reimbursements received counted as 'pure profit' in United's books because of his status as a graduate Academy.

In an interview with the athletics last week, Mctominay – who made more than 250 performances during his time at United – stated that he could have been better used by his managers.

“When I got into the first team, I was quite a neighborhood where I played,” said McTominay.

“It wasn't coaches' fault. My strengths have always been in the box, goals scored, being a problem. But I was used as a no. 6, or as a center-back, and that has never really been my game. '

Antony, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Elanga are among the other players who are blooming.
