Revealed: Value of Real Madrid’s offer that Liverpool have turned down

Real Madrid have begun formal talks with Liverpool in a bid to land Trent Alexander-Arnold in January, but their first attempt was rejected. The English defender can also sign a free contract with Real Madrid to join in the summer.

Alexander-Arnold is keen to join Los Blancos, according to the press in the Spanish capital, and The Telegraph in England says Real Madrid have rejected a €25 million bid for him. That is backed by Diario AS, who say their initial proposal was €10 million, but the English outlet also notes that they could be willing to increase their bid for him. Liverpool are still hoping to convince him to stay at the club and therefore have no intention of accepting an offer now.

Real Madrid seem confident that they will get their man sooner or later, but with only Lucas Vazquez at right-back for the rest of the season, Carlo Ancelotti's side are in danger as things stand. Dani Carvajal has been ruled out for the rest of the season and the Italian has occasionally used Fede Valverde in that position.
