Viktor Gyokeres reportedly set up a company in London for almost two weeks before his move to Arsenal was completed.
The interest of the Gunners in the productive Swede had been clear from the start of the summer window, but the negotiations for a deal continued for weeks.
In the midst of interest from Rivalen Manchester United, the delays must have left Arsenal supporters who wonder if they would ever close a deal, let alone complete a transfer on time for next season.
But it seems for the man himself that the move was never jumped, because Gyokees registered a new London -based promotion company for 10 days before he signed on the dotted line on July 26, according to The Times.
The company is registered on July 16 and is expected to handle the income of the striker for image rights.
The title, VG9 Productions Ltd, is inspiration from the initials of Gyokees and the song he wore during his two seasons in Sporting Lisbon.
It was thought that the Swede had preferred the No. 9 in Arsenal – currently occupied by Gabriel Jesus – but later expressed his desire to follow in the footsteps of Thierry Henry with No. 14.
After completing his £ 64 million move last weekend, Gyokers threw to Asia to meet his new teammates during their pre-season tour through Asia.
His debut came on Thursday against Rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with the front man about 20 minutes from the bank of the bank offering while building his fitness for the new season. Arsenal starts on August 16 with a difficult game in Old Trafford.
