Marcus Rashford could be forced to sit outside the Laliga opener of Barcelona after club president Joan Laporta had admitted that some of their summer signs may not be registered on time.
The England attacker joined the Catalan side of Manchester United last month, with an option to make the deal permanent for around £ 30 million.
He appeared on Sunday evening when Barcelona closed the preseason with a 5-0 win over Como.
Laporta confirmed that the new goalkeeper Joan Garcia will be registered after the club resolved a dispute with Marc Andre Ter Stegen, but colleague Arrival Rashford, Roony Bardghji and Wojciech Szczesny have a frightening waiting to make the team traveling to Mallorca on Saturday.
“We work to make it happen,” said Laporta. 'With the decision of Marc we have the opportunity to register Joan Garcia, and we are working on the rest.
'This week we have news, hopefully good news, to see if we can register them before La Liga starts. And if we can't do that, we have time. '
Ter Stegen was stripped of the Captainincy on Thursday after a disagreement about back operation that he underwent in July.
Spanish reports claim that Barcelona could have covered 80 percent of his wages until the middle of the season if the 33-year-old was classified as a absence for prolonged injury, which led funds to register new players.
The club says that Ter Stegen has now completed the required paperwork with which they can submit his medical report, and he has since recovered as a captain.
Laporta praised the German and said: 'We look ahead. Marc is our captain, I think he has been excellent. What remains has been resolved.
“He said some sincere words, I think, and I think the fans needed this to see the captain lead the way.
“He went to Barca for 12 seasons, won a Champions League and apart from being an excellent keeper, he is an excellent person, and I am especially happy that he is the captain.”
In recent seasons, Barcelona has repeatedly had difficulty registering players because of their financial problems.
The last term they were confronted with a long -term struggle for Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, who initially received temporary licenses before LaLiga withdrew them during the transfer window of January.
A profession later saw the licenses restored, but the dispute dragged a large part of the 2025-26 campaign.
