RFEF will not grant Barcelona licences for Dani Olmo and Pau Victor

La Liga made it perfectly clear that Barcelona did not do enough to include Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in their declaration before the late December deadline. Barcelona previously released their own statement explaining that they had applied for licenses from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), but according to the latest reports that will not amount to much for them.

According to Diario AS, the RFEF has no intention of granting Barcelona these licenses without the green light from La Liga. They are keen to maintain the recently improved relations with La Liga, as evidenced by president Rafael Louzan appointing La Liga president Javier Tebas to his board. Their information is that Barcelona tried to buy time by putting the matter in the hands of the RFEF, but they are not willing to get involved. Likewise, MD confirms this report by stating that the RFEF only sanctions players' licenses, rather than making a decision.

It seems Barcelona is running out of exits to turn down, and may have to face the music when it comes to Olmo and Victor's playing status. The Blaugrana have leaked to the local press that they remain confident they will be able to register both players, and expect to provide further details on January 3.
