Ricky Gervais pokes fun at Keane after MU legend ‘offered out’ fan to car park
RICKY GERVAIS poked fun at Roy Keane with a 14-word message after the Manchester United legend “mobbed” a fan in a car park.
Keane clashed with an Ipswich supporter after watching his old side draw 1-1 at Portman Road on Sunday.
The Irishman was working as a pundit for Sky Sports when the incident occurred.
An angry home fan gave Keane a break after the ex-midfielder's beleaguered time as Ipswich boss 15 years ago.
This involved Keane confronting the supporter before saying: “I'll wait for you in the car park.”
And comedian Gervais couldn't resist poking fun at the former United captain on social media.
The creator of TV hits such as The Office and Extras was revealed as a guest on the next episode of The Overlap.
Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher sparked Gervais' Keane joke by saying: “Bloody loves football.”
Gervais replied: “I'm just glad Roy didn't want to talk to me in the parking lot.”
Fans responded with excitement, with one saying: “The crossover we all wanted.”
Another stated: “I can't wait to watch this.”
One commented: “Dare him to throw shoes.”
Another said: “Did you enjoy the interview Ricky? Not at all, to some extent, very much, I don't know.”
Meanwhile, the Ipswich supporter had his say on Facebook about the Keane incident.
Neil Finbow wrote: “New claim to fame – just offered by Roy Keane in the car park after a few nice words.
“Even Jamie Redknapp had to come and take it away – just an average Sunday night.”
In response to a comment, he then allegedly wrote: 'I reminded him that he set us back five years and ruined our football club.
'I also mentioned that he was unable to take a single step near our property [Portman Road].
“Oh, and I mentioned that he went to a World Cup and broke Haaland's leg and put it in his autobiography.
“I hate that guy, and it has been simmering since he was fired all those years ago.”
Finbow further wrote in a comment: “The truth hurts, buddy. It makes me sick to look at him.”
