Luis Enrique says that it would be “ridiculous” to look too deep in Paris Saint-Germain who goes to a second straight Ligue 1 defeat on Saturday.
The Spaniard released a heavily rotated starting line-up for Saturday's collision against Strasbourg, in which he undoubtedly held one eye on the Champions League semi-final second stage against Arsenal.
Strasbourg, who are now in fourth place and certainly keep an eye on a Champions League place, took the lead in the 20th minute when the header of Mamadou Sarr remained in the net of Lucas Hernandez.
The hosts then doubled their advantage in the first half when Felix Lemarchal curled a brilliant strike in the upper corner.
PSG ran out of the blocks after the break and pulled a goal back after just 44 seconds, thanks to a composed run and finish of Bradley Barcola.
The visitors gathered hard for a late equalizer, with Goncalo Ramos who wasted good chances, sending a header of the target and see a final attempt that Djordje Petrovic was refused while the hosts held up to win 2-1.
It is the first time since April 2023 that PSG Back-to-Back Ligue has lost 1 matches, after last weekend's defeat against Nice.
Despite the loss, Luis Enrique insisted that he is satisfied with the way his side performed.
“It was a very high level,” said the PSG manager.
“It is not worth it to go too deeply because the objectives I had thought have come true, apart from the result.
“I think it was a very narrow game between two teams who want to play in the Champions League next season.

“It is ridiculous to continue. I also want to say that we were close to a draw, we had opportunities. But it is not easy to play against this Strasbourg team.
“They have a lot of quality and experience. Now we have to recover and go into a phase of immersion on Wednesday competition [against Arsenal]. “
Speaking on the rotated line -up with a large number of Academy graduates, the Spaniard added: “We started with four players from the Academy and ended with five. I am very satisfied with their versions.”
Indeed, with Warren Zaire-Emy, Senny Mayulu, Axel Tape and Ibrahim Mbaye all included in the starting line-up, PSG became the first team in the Big Five European Leagues that started a competition match born in 2006 or later.
PSG now focuses their attention on the semi-final second stage on Wednesday of the Champions League against Arsenal in the Parc des Princes, where they have a narrow 1-0 advantage of the first stage.
