Rio Ferdinand has fired a warning from Manchester United while they talk to Brentford about a deal for the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo.
The attacker is the goal of the Red Devils, but the two clubs have been in negotiations for a few weeks with another agreement that still has to be reached, despite the fact that personal conditions are not a problem.
A compromise seemed to be in sight after Brentford had rejected two offers from United for the Cameroon International-one of £ 45 million plus £ 10 million in add-ons and a second of £ 55 million plus £ 7.5 million.
United thought that matching the £ 62.5 million paid to Wolves for Cunha would be sufficient, but Brentford is supposed to demand more than £ 65 million with a larger initial payment.
Ruben Amorim wants to increase his attacking options last season after a gloomy campaign and the Portuguese in desperate need for improvement while entering his first previous season.
And former United Defender Ferdinand has now talked about the Saga and urged the club to get the deal over the line once and for all.
“Man United must find a way to meet the valuation of Brentford,” said Ferdinand on Rio Ferdinand -Gissen. 'The proposal does not seem to be enough for Brentford, but Manchester United has to do this.
'It has been in the news for far too long to reach a situation to get to the end of the window and it doesn't happen, I think this will be an egg-on-the-face situation for Man United, unless they go get someone else. Who did they wait as an alternative in their wings? We have not heard names that are close.
'It would surprise me if this deal does not go ahead, United has to make it public and they are now in a position where they have to make a movement to get it over the line.
“I will repeat myself. He fits physically with the bill, he is dynamic, scores goals in the Premier League, knows the Premier League, look at this space. '
United has confronted with competition from Tottenham after Mbeumo's old boss left Thomas Frank Brentford to replace Ange Postecoglou at Spurs, but the fan of the Boyhood United has made no secret of his wish to move to Old Trafford and there is a growing confidence that the deal will be closed.
The 25-year-old fits in with the profile that United wants in terms of age and the fact that he has already been proven in the Premier League. His personal conditions of less than £ 200,000 per week also bring him to the plans of the club to lower their wage account.
Mebumo would be the third signing of United of the Summer, on the back of the arrival of Cunha and returned Diego Leon to the Paraguayan Club Club Cerro Poro this week.
