Robert Whittaker says it's almost impossible to replicate Khamzat Chimaev

In his esteemed career, Robert Whittaker has cemented his place as one of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster, with excellent striking and sublime takedown defense.

But while he fended off the likes of Yoel Romero, he couldn't do anything when Khamzat Chimaev went into wrestling mode.

After playing 'Bobby Knuckles', the Swede locked in a face crank so brutal that his opponent was forced to tap.

The pressure was so tight that Whittaker's jaw broke so badly that the Australian's teeth went out of alignment.

During an episode of MMArcade, the former middleweight champion explained why it was so difficult to deal with his rival

He claimed, “I felt very comfortable with him. Then the guy falls like a millimeter – how do you stop that takedown?

“We've done a lot of wrestling, we've done a lot of wall work, but it's so hard to replicate that kind of takedown, that kind of commitment.

“Props to him. Guy knows his power and played it to the hilt, and was willing to burn everything for it.
