Real Madrid starts a new era this summer, but one of the big movements that can be made is that Rodrygo Goes. The 24-year-old is strongly connected to a step away from the Santiago Bernabeu, with a number of Premier League clubs that were said to be interested in signing him.
Real Madrid is willing to sell Rodrygo, although the final decision will come to the new manager Xabi Alonso. But in the meantime it is assumed that they have dropped his asking price, which is good news for those clubs that would like to agree on a summer agreement.
Arsenal is currently at the front of the queue. And although the semi-finalists of the Champions League show a lot of interest, that cannot be in a successful offer to sign the Brazil international.
As reported by Florian Plettenburg, Arsenal has had conversations with Rodrygo's representatives in recent days, but these discussions were not overly successful. The Premier League is currently not willing to meet the Real Madrid -man's wage requirements, which is said to be € 10 million per season.
As a result, a deal has now been questioned. And it would be no surprise to see Arsenal on to different goals, one of whom is supposed to be Athletic Club and Spain star Nico Williams.
Outside of clubs in Saudi Arabia, there are certainly very few who would like to pay Rodrygo € 10 million per season. And as such it is more likely that he will stay in real Madrid for at least one season – especially if he decides to lower his requirements.
It is still too considered whether Rodrygo will leave Real Madrid this summer, but if so, his last game in the white sweater at home De la Liga collision is on Saturday against Real Sociedad.
