Roma edge past 10-man Porto as late chaos keeps Bodo/Glimt in contention

Paulo Dybala inspired Roma on a 3-2 second leg victory over 10-man Porto in the Europa League, in which a 4-3 aggregated success was held that the Giallorossi brings in the last 16.

Milan, Atalanta and Juventus had already seen a bleak week for Italian clubs in Europe from the Champions League.

And Roma ran the risk of adding them after a draw in the first stage in Portugal, where Porto then first scored on Thursday due to the sensational overhead kick of Samu Aghowa.

But Dybala scored twice in the five minutes before half -time to put the series under control over the draw.

Roma missed a series of possibilities to add to their lead, despite the fact that Porto's Stephen Eustaquioo was broadcast, and they had a scary escape when Samu hit the counter attack.

However, there would be no smash and grasp of the visitors, since a third goal from Niccolo Pisilli meant that replacement Devyne Rensch's late own goal turned out not to be expensive.

The late drama in the match between Bodo/Glimt and Twente was much more consistent the three goals in the stopping time brought their second stage to extra time before the Norwegian outfit won 5-2 and 6-4.

Glimt went outside when the second stage was 1-1 on 1-1 when the clock passed for 90 minutes, only for a chaotic order to see the draw and forth.

Mees Hilgers' own goal brought the draw in the second minute of the stop time, before Brice Wembangomo hit two minutes later to have shine on the edge. Sem Steijn's 96th minutes Riposte kept Twente in the draw and led to an extra period.

The margins remained in order, but the target decision system that was found in favor of Sondre Fet when Steijn tried a final cleaning up, when a second Twente own goal, this time from Arno Verschueren, finally gave breathing space.

That tie was rather tighter than the meeting between AZ and Galatasaray that saw the Dutch side improve a total of 6-3.

AZ was 4-1 of the home leg before they expanded their advantage with road goals from Seiya Maikuma and DESO Kasius both sides of the break.

Victor Osimhen responded on Gala within a minute after Kasius, making the night 2-0, with Roland Sallai then the second stage on 2-2, but it was too little, too late for the hosts.

Elsewhere in Thursday's early kick-off, FCSB won at home 2-0 to Paok to complete a 4-1 triumph.
