According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Xabi Alonso is ready to take over as a Real Madrid head coach.
Alonso is willing to accept Madrid's offer, and as soon as the club has been completed the departure process with Carlo Ancelotti, his appointment is officially made.
In the meantime, Bayer Leverkusen accelerate their search for a new head coach as Alonso's departure becomes more and more likely. Negotiations with regard to his exit are underway.
Earlier reports stated that Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid after the end of 26 May, so that a new era is heralded under the leadership of Alonso.
