Real Madrid has made their first signing of the summer, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. A deal that will be rumors for the best part of the past 15 months, Liverpool Rechtsback Trent Alexander-Arnold will become a member of Los Blancos this summer.
The 26-year-old was first connected to Real Madrid in March 2024, when his last year with Liverpool approached his last year. That was then Los Blancos started their charm offensive, so Alexander-Arnold knows that they were interested.
As the negotiations with Liverpool did not progress, first reports of a rough agreement on the conditions at the end of 2024 appeared, and by February it was more or less unanimous that a deal had been agreed, pending the last green light of Alexander-Arnold. Now, according to Romano, Alexander-Arnold has confirmed his decision and has a verbal agreement with Real Madrid to participate in a five-year contract, after a long-term striving from the English international.
