Romeo Beckham did not spare his father's emotions after brutally teasing Man United legend David Beckham following the side's 2-0 defeat to Arsenal.
United lost 2-0 at Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday thanks to second-half goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba.
There was a lot of attention on the match in North London, with much discussion before the match about how Amorim's United would fare against Arteta's Arsenal.
Interestingly, it was a match that sparked banter among the Beckham family, with Arsenal fan Romeo having the last laugh.
Ahead of the game, Romeo took to Instagram to begin the back-and-forth with his father, writing, “Big game in the Beckham household today @davidbeckham #COYG.”
United legend David quickly replied, writing: 'A big game for you guys. Just another game for us.”
Romeo then shared a photo of himself and girlfriend Kim Turnbull at the match, with the caption: 'Nervous @davidbeckham?'.
However, Beckham Snr's posts ended with his earlier response to Romeo, but the same cannot be said for the 22-year-old.
However, despite his quick response to his son, it was Romeo who ultimately had the last laugh as Arsenal finally triumphed over the Red Devils.
After the match, Romeo posted a selfie with the caption: 'Sleep tight @davidbeckham'.
United legend David previously explained that his son's affection for Arsenal came about thanks to club legend Arsene Wenger.
In an interview with Rio Ferdinand last month, Beckham explained: 'He was very young and we were in London on a Friday and he said, 'Dad, let's go to a match this weekend.
'So I started watching the games and I thought: 'Arsenal is home'. So I thought, you know what, they're always really nice to me when I go to watch United and Arsenal, and I thought, okay, they'll take care of us, there won't be any problems getting in.
'No fuss, just sat there. So we walked in, great seats. Was in the director's box. Lunch was incredible before the game – it was like Wagyu, full, everything.
'So we walk in, I'm sitting there and then Arsène walks into the room and he comes straight to the table and introduces himself to Romeo and says, 'Come with me, son.'
'So he takes him into the dressing room, meets all the players, gives him a shirt, signs him, takes him onto the pitch, walks him back to the table and then gives him an Arsenal cashmere scarf, and that was everything. It was done'.
Beckham's former United teammates Gary Neville and Roy Keane were left frustrated after watching Wednesday's defeat to Arsenal.
“Honestly, that's c**p,” Keane said on The Overlap, brought to you by Sky Bet. 'If Fulham or Wolves played like that we would criticize them. Damn nonsense.'
Carragher then replied: “Fulham are above them,” before Keane hit back, saying: “You know what I mean, if they gave the ball away that cheaply we'd say they're average.”
Commenting on the disappointment from United's perspective, Neville added: 'This is going to be messy. United are dead now, they're gone.'
