Cristian Romero apparently opened the door for a relocation of Tottenham at the end of the campaign in a recent interview.
The Argentinian central defender has been in the club since he came to Atalanta as Defender of the year of Serie A in August 2021, and he has since played 89 times for the North London club.
Since his arrival at Spurs he has become one of the best defenders of the club, but this season he has been hindered by injuries, like many of his teammates.
His reputation in the game, however, has remained intact and he was regularly reported as a transfer target for some of the largest clubs in Europe.
Among the lovers, Atletico Madrid is linked to a move for the World Cup winner prior to this summer's World Cup.
However, a recent interview may find that other clubs pay a little more care of Romero's situation, after he had suggested that he could be open to leave Tottenham this summer.
“We are in the semi-final of the Europa League and I want to end the season on a high note,” the Argentina star admitted when he was questioned by Los Gorels in his immediate future.
“Then we'll see. My focus is always on growing and being looking for new places to keep developing. '
The Tottenham campaign was underwhelming for 2024-25, with the club currently 16th in the Premier League after a 2-1 defeat of Nottingham Forest in North London on Monday evening.
As such, they are out of the race to qualify for Europe next term via the Premier League, although their chances still live in other ways.
Winning the Europa League would secure their place in next year's Champions League, which would give a huge positive advantage to a miserable season.
Romero was also asked in which competition he had never played, he would like to participate the most, to which he admitted that he would choose Spain, although that is not considered a big hint about his future.
