Ronaldinho to become grandfather aged just 45 as Barcelona and Brazil legend’s son, 19, to have first child

Brazilian legend Ronaldinho will become a grandfather at the age of 45.

The beautiful influencer girlfriend of the son of football star Joao Mendes, who signed for Burnley from Barcelona last August, announced this weekend that she is pregnant with their first child.

Giovanna Buscacio, 25, who lives with 19-year-old Joao in Manchester and has a whopping 130,000 Instagram followers, wrote in a post yesterday alongside emojis of a baby and a milk bottle: “16 weeks and counting.”

She followed up the selfie photo she published, in which she rested a hand on her bare stomach, by posting images of her kissing Joao in an elevator and photos of the happy couple, alongside a message in English and Portuguese that read: ' Mom and Dad. Incomplete without you, my love, but we are already together.”

Joao responded by saying, “I love you very much, my love.”

Former Barcelona and AC Milan star Ronaldinho, pictured at a football charity event in eastern China on Saturday, has not yet commented on social media.

Joao, who currently plays mainly as a right winger for Burnley U21, is Ronaldinho's only child.

His mother is the beautiful former dancer Janaina Mendes, who met and started dating the two-time FIFA World Player of the Year award winner when she was a dancer on a popular Brazilian TV show called Domingao do Faustao.

She lived in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte, but according to her Instagram she is now based in Barcelona.

Joao Mendes was just 14 when he signed his first contract with Nike in May 2019 in the presence of his beautiful mother and Ronaldinho, the face of the company when he was crowned the best player in the world in 2005.

The Rio de Janeiro-born youngster signed his first professional contract with Brazilian side Cruzeiro at the age of 13 before moving to Europe.

He was assigned to Barcelona's youth team after trials, but despite improvements in the U19 squad he was let go by the Catalan giants last summer so he could join Burnley's U21 squad.

His current contract expires on June 30, 2026.

Joao's beautiful brunette girlfriend is the sister of an actress named Guillia Buscacio.

The couple have been together for more than two years and Giovanna has shared several snaps on social media showing their new life in England since moving to Britain together.

Ronaldinho, who spent his 40th birthday in prison in Paraguay after being arrested for flying into the country on a fake passport, turns 45 on March 21.
