Ronda Rousey reveals what she misses most about fighting since health issue forced premature UFC retirement

Ronda Rousey admits that she still misses one aspect of Fighting after his retirement in 2016

'Rowdy' established himself as one of the greatest female hunters in MMA history during a 12-0 run that brought about a revolution in sport.

Back-to-back knockout defeats for Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, however, preceded her premature retirement in advance of just 29 years old.

Almost a decade later, Ronda Rousey offered resistance to comeback talk and has built a life away from the UFC.

What does Ronda Rousey miss about MMA?

Rousey recently excited fans by sharing images of her MMA training on social media.

It soon became clear that the 37-year-old is not a stunning return to the Octagon Plant.

The former UFC Bantamweight Champion has now explained its return to the gym by admitting that she is missing training and preparing for fighting.

“I really miss the training,” Rousey admitted on the untouched podcast.

“The more separation you have from things, the more you romanticize it, but I miss all the good things.

“For some reason, I really miss the process so much more. Everyone makes it so much about the real performance and that night.

'Small things that I miss a bit. I think I was just lost in the control of something. If you are good at something and everything makes sense. I am never in a situation where I intend: 'What should I do? '

“Getting lost in a current state, I thought that was really great because there is not 10 minutes ago or 10 minutes from now on. It's just all that happens at the moment, especially the way I fight.

“I miss that puzzle solution, if that makes sense.”

Ronda Rousey's premature retirement explained

In 2024, Rousey unveiled her health status and categorically excluded a return to the UFC.

The Olympic bronze medal winner Judoka explained that she had treated with concussion before and during her historic MMA run.

Rousey claimed that a fall of a staircase had left her a serious concussion for her fight with Holm.

The issue was so bad that she couldn't take a blow without being startled, so she decided to retire after she had stopped strikes from Nunes in 48 seconds.

“When I came to MMA, I had already had dozens of concussions that I endured,” said Rousey last August. “Like, not even stopped. So that was about a decade of concussion symptoms more often than not.

“So when I came to MMA, I played a game of zero errors. Then it came to where I fought more often than anyone. I had more extraordinary responsibilities than anyone, and it just had to hurt lighter and lighter hits more and more.

“I came to a point where I couldn't take a puncture without being dazed, without getting brick -shaking symptoms. It just came to a point where it was not safe for me to fight. I just couldn't continue fighting at that higher level.”
