Rooney encourages Man Utd to lose 15 players with Amorim plan already mapped out

Wayne Rooney has launched a destructive attack on his former club Manchester United and claims that almost the entire team is not suitable for wearing the shirt – with just two exceptions.

The Red Devils have been in a state of decay since their last Premier League victory in 2013, which coincided with the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. This season was particularly disappointing, with the team going away in 14th place and is on its way to their worst Premier League finish.

Under the steward of Ruben Amorim, United has achieved a meager five competition victories since his arrival in November. And Rooney believes that it is clear that a complete squador television is needed.

Speaking at Sky Bets Stick to Football Podcast, Rooney did not stop when he was asked if there was hope for the current United team. He replied: “No, I don't think so. They look lost. They look afraid.

“Bruno [Fernandes] Is the one who continues to produce, he sometimes annoys you but continues to produce. They need huge changes in the team, I think 10-15 players should leave the club. It is clear that they cannot do that, but there is a mentality where nobody takes responsibility [in the squad]. “

Rooney then only mentioned two players that he would keep from the current team. “I would keep Bruno and [Kobbie] Mainoo, “he said, before he adds:” There is a culture in the club where it is too easy to lose games and the players come out and say 'on the next', and all that waste.

“Just show a character and fights on the field. It is bad looking, it hurts. From Liverpool, but so many years at United, I want the team to do well, I have my children in the academy, and it hurts to view them.”

Although Rooney would like to see a complete overhaul at Old Trafford, Amorim has admitted that he already has plans for the 2025/26 campaign.

The coming summer transfer window is in years that the most important years of United is because they have to form the team that fits the philosophy of the head coach. Although the budget they work with, it is expected to be somewhat tight, especially after co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe had admitted this week that the club would not have had any money later this year if they did not start implementing radical changes behind the scenes.

Amorim spoke to the media this week: “We have a clear plan to tackle next season. Of course we also have Europa League and you can reach the Champions League – you never know.

“It's far from the moment, but you never know – you can change the preparation for next season. We have a plan, we know what to do. We know that we are at a difficult moment, but the most important thing is to have a plan again and know what to do and know what kind of players you should take with you.”

When he was investigated when his plan included the sale of important players, he failed to exclude the possibility that big names will continue. Amorim added: “We will see that we are simply focused at the moment, especially on this competition that can change everything. Let's concentrate on the game tomorrow.”

United wants to seal a place in the Europa League quarter finals on Thursday while they organize Real Sociedad in Old Trafford, with the draw subtly ready after a 1-1 draw in the first stage.
