Roy Keane furious as Adam Lallana escapes red card for challenge Man Utd legend
ROY KEANE was left furious after Adam Lallana escaped a red card against Liverpool.
The Southampton midfielder caught Reds star Ryan Gravenberch high on the shin with his studs at St Mary's.
Lallana, 36, was not sent off by referee Sam Barrott, nor did VAR intervene in the on-field decision.
He only received a yellow card because of the tackle.
The decision to leave the former Liverpool star on the pitch left Keane fuming in the Sky Sports studio.
He said: “I think so, he has no control, he doesn't even look at the ball.
'I would have been sent here. I would have been 100 percent. I wouldn't have had any complaints.
“They looked at the player there and thought he wasn't really a bad guy, no Liverpool player is after him.
“He's an ex-teammate. I think he got away with it. I think it's a red one.”
Keane received thirteen red cards during his career, the joint record in English football.
The decision did not have a major impact on the match as Liverpool still finished as winners on the south coast.
Liverpool took the lead in the match after Dominik Szoboszlai made the home team pay for sloppy play in defense.
Southampton then prepared for a surprise win as Adam Armstrong and Mateus Fernandes fired them into the lead.
However, it wasn't enough to stop Arne Slot's Liverpool as Mohamed Salah scored a brace to restore the lead.
With the 3-2 victory, Liverpool is now eight points ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League.
Tyler Dibling was a shining spark for Southampton as he impressed so much that Arsenal fans called on the club to sign him.
