Roy Keane jokingly calls for Ruben Amorim to change Man Utd’s new-look formation
Roy Keane jokingly called on Ruben Amorim to change his tactics after Manchester United's disappointing first half against Ipswich on Sunday.
Amorim made three changes to the XI named before the international break by former interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The new United boss did not go for his preferred 4-3-3 formation, but opted for a 3-4-2-1.
That left Marcus Rashford in the lead with Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes behind him.
Diogo Dalot and Amad Diallo played the role of full-backs, with Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in the middle.
United made the perfect start, with Rashford opening the scoring in the second minute, but they flattered themselves to deceive for the rest of the half.
During the break, United legend Keane said: 'Great start from United, I bet the manager couldn't believe it.
'United have a great start and then I sit back and think: what are you waiting for?
'Go after Ipswich. But they sit back and give them a lot of encouragement and they certainly deserved the equalizer.
“I'd go back to a 4-4-2, big striker up front,” he joked, which made fellow pundit Jamie Redknapp laugh.
