Kevin De Bruyne is a man looking for a club after his exit was confirmed in Manchester City and Roy Keane has joked that he must stay geographically and become a member of Manchester United
Roy Keane has jokes that Kevin De Bruyne should consider coming to Manchester United – because he should not move. The playmaker of Manchester City leaves the club this summer when his contract ends.
The Premier League side has decided to let the Belgers search together after a decade of success. It allows the dual PFA player of the year to look for a new employer with clubs in England, the MLS and Saudi Arabia, all addressed as goals.
De Bruyne has proved to be one of the best foreign imports in the history of the top flight of England and, despite a dip this season, continued to produce for the city on the way to numerous silverware.
Shay said that Pep Guardiola and those in the Etihad will worry that a Premier League could penetrate rival and sign the Belgian before Keane joked that, for the sake of convenience, a move to Old Trafford should be in mind.
The ex-goalee said on Sky Sports: “Kevin will admit that he is not at its peak, but you can see that he still has a lot to offer. He can pop up at another Premier League club and that is a concern for the city.” Keane interrupted and suggested: “United? He shouldn't move.”
De Bruyne has wounded injured this season, but scored more than 100 times for the city, while he was also named the player of the season for four years as the club. He recently announced that it was the decision of the club not to submit a new offer – which was a surprise.
“I didn't have a offer all year round, they just made a decision,” said De Bruyne. “It was clear that I was a bit surprised, but I just have to accept it. To be honest, I still think I can perform at this level as I show, but I understand that clubs have to make decisions.”
He has supported himself to continue to compete and extending his career in Europe would enable him to play at the highest level instead of enjoying the dusk years of his career in the United States or the Central East.
“I feel that I still have a lot to give,” De Bruyne said. “Of course I know that I am no longer 25, but I still have the feeling that I can do my work. I am open to everything. I have to look at the whole picture. I look at sports, family, everything together, which is most logical for me and my family.
“I like to play football. I like to compete. That's what I feel, so I can't say that I want to stop because I still feel that I am the guys when I am in training, want to defeat the boys.”
