Roy Keane rips into ‘shocking’ Arsenal superstar Martin Odegaard

Roy Keane tore in the performance of Martin Odegaard during the 1-0 victory of Arsenal against Manchester United and insisted that he was 'shocking'.

The side of Mikel Arteta came from Old Trafford with a heavily fought three points after Riccardo Calafiori was in a blunder of the United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

Bayindir had not washed away the Inswing -corner of Declan Rice, and a deflection of the back of his gloves allowed Calafiori to steal in the distant pole and touch home.

It was a promising display of the New Look hosts, who started a big money in the summer, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha and £ 74 million men brought Benjamin Sesko when they chased the game around the hour.

Cunha was a special thorn in the side of the visitors and tested David Raya three times, while Patrick Dorgu hit the post and Mbeumo looked a header out.

As a result, Arsenal might have been lucky to leave with a victory in their curtain booster, and Keane believes that much on the part of Arteta simply did not appear. However, he reserved particularly destructive criticism for Captain Odegaard.

Keane said on Sky Sports: 'This was an Arsenal team that, I think four or five players showed up, anyway. Praise for Odegaard … I thought Odegaard was shocking.

'[Bukayo] Saka didn't do much, players from the bank did not do too much.

“This was under the par of Arsenal.”

Arsenal is generally expected to set up a costs for the Premier League title this season and Keane believes that they should be more reluctantly to cross the line, pointing on occasions that she chose to sit on a lead instead of having to chase more goals.

He added: 'From the point of view of Arsenal, the sign of a really good team is when you are not at your best to win football matches. The care for me, a bit in the second half and the manager said there, there were opportunities to really go to United.

“They seemed to be away from that point of view. But if you can win if you are not at your best, and that is a big plus.

'In the future, if you compete, try to compete with Liverpool and Man City, they seem to want to go for that second goal or that third goal, while Arsenal is still a bit, we have one and we might hold on to it.

“That failed a bit last year. Again, we go back to it, they had too many draws, too many draws. That will not win you competition titles.

“That's where they have to improve.”
