Nevertheless, Amorim's side has the chance to play in next season's Champions League while preparing for the Europa League final against colleague thrusters Tottenham.
Talked to the press after the game, Amorim acknowledged that his side still has a long way to go if they want to compete next season.
The 18th League defeat on his side: “We have complete recognition of that, we are already talking about that. Nothing will change this season.
“The best way is to prepare for the final and to win a trophy this season and then prepare the next one.
“We know that we are struggling a lot, but that is in the past, we have to look at the present and prepare for the final than next season.”
