Ruben Amorim has given his seal of approval to two prodigies leaving Manchester United this month.
The Red Devils need serious surgery within their squad after a rocky start to the season. And with the January transfer window open, United are aiming to get a number of deals over the line.
That could mean a host of the club's most promising young stars leaving the club. Among those who could leave on loan are academy graduates Dan Gore and Harry Amass.
The duo have reportedly been identified as players who would benefit from some experience of first-team football during the second half of the campaign. And as a result, club chiefs are keen to send them out on loan.
According to Manchester World, United are looking to loan out at least two young players in January. Gore, 20, made two appearances for the Red Devils under Erik ten Hag, but injury ruined a loan spell at Port Vale.
After the youngster made his Premier League debut, he said: “It's a good birthday for him but I'm not a coach who gives players chances.” [for no reason]they have to earn it. Once they earn it, they have their chance.
“They have to earn it every day in training. I don't give chances to young players. They must consistently prove their worth during training because if they don't, it could have consequences for the team.
“We are very critical. They have to earn it every day in training. And if the standards are too low, we will hurt them and we won't play against them because they have to train to the max every day.”
17-year-old defender Amass has a bright future in football, but has yet to make his debut for his boyhood club. And while United want to offload the pair, loan deals will not help the club continue to do business.
Boss Amorim has already claimed that players must be sold before players come in. Earlier this month he said: “We won't have that option in January if we don't sign (sell) some players. So you know the situation better than I do.
“So it's not like I come here and I can spend a lot of money on changing the whole team. You know the situation, so there's no point in talking about it.”
There are a number of senior players who have been linked with exits, most notably Marcus Rashford. The England international has already admitted he would be interested in pursuing new opportunities, having spent his entire career at Old Trafford.
However, a move in January could prove difficult given his high wages, while Joshua Zirkzee – only signed this summer – could return to Italy after a difficult start in the Premier League.
