Andre Onana was warned by Ruben Amorim that is threatened as number 1 of Manchester United. Onana had a nightmare campaign in Old Trafford after his £ 47.2 million arrival from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 and the Reds would have sold the Cameroon International if they had found a buyer to pay £ 35 million.
United is forced to put their hunt for a new shot stopper and the 29-year-old Onana will start United's opening match against Arsenal after repairing a hamstring injury. But Baas Amorim said: “Andre is just like the other players. They all have to win their place, so I am not going to say if a player is number 1. He is ready to go to the game, so let's wait. As a coach and the players can do better than last year – and I have full confidence in that.”

Onana has admitted a stunning 148 goals in his two seasons in Manchester. He has been defeated 102 times in 72 Premier League performances. Amorim had hoped that the United Board would punish a movement for a new keeper this summer after dropping Onana during a Dodgy enchantment in April who culminated in a horror show in the Europa League draw in Lyon.
