Manchester United brought Teenage – goalkeeper Elyh Harrison back from his loan spell last month – and has now rejected loan offers to keep him at Old Trafford.
He was at the National League North Side Chester in the first months of the season, but continued to impress and on his return the teenager was thrown directly into the first team environment by Ruben Amorim. Harrison was on the couch for yesterday's defeat by Crystal Palace, which underlines his rising profile.
Clubs of League One and League Two all want to land the goalkeeper on loan, but the 18-year-old will spend the rest of the season in Manchester with the club that chooses to leave him, as reported for the first time by the BBC.
Harrison played for the U21s but was not part of the photo of the first team, which was underlined by the fact that he was admitted during the loss of the Eagles.
The teenager is very thought and cost the Premier League side £ 500k when they signed him from Stevenage. In the past he had exposure to the first team with Harrison with in the team about different friendships for the season in the summer, although he was not part of the American tour.
Andre Onana is the number 1 of the club, but even he has confronted with his own critics. The Cameroonian was signed under the previous regime, but has made mistakes that directly led to goals. In the loss for Wolves, he was hit directly from a corner and he was responsible for a goal from Brighton while recently won at Old Trafford.
His Understudy Altay Bayindir has continued to see his minutes limited. He was less than impressive in the Carabao Cup loss against Tottenham in December, but only a few weeks ago the hero was when United Arsenal struck in the FA Cup.
Harrison is one of the most appreciated young people in the academy. He is the second goalkeeper who won the Reserve Player of the Year Award, which he won last season. He was also the youngest recipient since Adnan Januzaj had written the prize.
The teenager was part of the team that previously won the U18 Premier League trophy, because he was in the final in the 2-1 victory in the final.
