Ruben Amorim says that the decisions of Ineos show a “clear path” to success at Manchester United – despite the fact that massive dismissals are announced this year.
Earlier this week, United announced that between 150 and 200 people will be made superfluous this year, which contributes to the 250 employees who were released last summer, such as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Ineos Group try to improve the situation in the club through cost -saving schemes.
All the while United is struggling on the field, where the club is on the 14th in the Premier League table. Their Europa League campaign will resume next month, while their FA Cup defense continues through a fifth round draw against Fulham on Sunday.
Asked to mention one positive thing with the club at the moment, Amorim said: “I see a clear path, I see that too from the board. They make difficult changes, they are not popular, but they do them because they have a vision. That is clear.
“But in the future we have to show some results – because you can make many changes and if we have no results, people will not feel trust and happy.
“The good thing is that we have a clear path, now it is difficult, but we are doing things to achieve success in the future.”
To improve these results, Amorim will have to guide his team to more victories on the field. The Portuguese coach has lost nine of his 23 games at Old Trafford.
Asked if he has become a better manager since he moved to Manchester, Amorim replied: “Better? It's hard to say. I don't win games, so sometimes I don't feel like I'm a better coach!
“I lived here for three months, I have experienced certain things where I am a more complete manager.
“Because you sometimes have to lose, to be in a bad situation to grow. I felt that in these three months.
“I don't die if I lose three games in a row. That is something that I have learned here. I can offer the head to keep the energy. I learn a lot about myself, but I prefer games. That is clear.
“But we survive and do everything. Today it is really difficult, but this will help us in the future.”
Amorim discusses Man UTD transfer plans in the midst of calls to be ruthless
Amorim also revealed that it will be “easy” for him to inform those he no longer wants in United to find a new future this summer.
United brought defender Patrick Dorgu in as their only recruit in January in Amorim's first transfer window, in which Marcus Rashford and Antony represent the large departure.
“We can talk about that about the end [of the season] Because there are still many games to play. But that is clear, “Amorim said when he was asked about his long -term plans to revise the team.
“It is not a difficult situation because everyone understands that you sometimes stay in football and sometimes you have to continue.
“It's easy for me [to explain that to the players]. If you know how to explain it, I can do it. I like to do it because I want to be clear.
“When I was a player – and I like to use that experience – if you are honest with someone, it is difficult in the beginning, but then they understand.
“So I am honest with my players. They already know that they sometimes have to continue at the end of the season.”
Asked if he should show ruthlessness this year, Amorim said: “It's a balance of everything. If the team tries and I understand that they try, but they can't do it, I'm not ruthless.
“I don't like to show strength, I just understand and have the feeling of what I see. You can have two similar situations, but the context is completely different and I try to understand everything in my team to help them be better.
“But if I feel that something will harm the team, I am quite ruthless. I know we are not going to win with certain behavior. So I try to make a balance of everything and just help the team.”
