Rory McIlroy will probably be his Master trophy and green jacket in Old Trafford parade after an invitation from Ruben Amorim to inspire the stars of Manchester United
Ruben Amorim has invited Rory Mcilroy to show off the Masters Trophy and Green Jacket in Old Trafford after the Superfan of Manchester United said that he would more than would like to inspire insufficiently performing players in improved results.
McIlroy, 35, completed the Grand Slam career in Augusta last weekend after more than a decade of trying. And after he has already stated with the Claret Jug, earned by winners of the Open for a home game against Swansea in August 2014, he seems to present his rewards for United fans again.
Amorim said in a video message from the club: “Hello Rory. Congratulations for the Masters and I want to invite you to Old Trafford to show your trophy.
“It is really important to us at the moment. You have achieved something that many people thought would be impossible and we want that feeling in our stadium. So I hope to see you soon at Old Trafford and meet you.”
Amorim's answer comes after McIlroy was asked for United during his media paken after the tournament. “If it can definitely inspire a bit better game,” he said.
United is preparing for a seasonal match against Lyon in the second stage of their Europa League quarter final on Thursday evening.
With their competition campaign ends and no chance to end in the upper half, Amorim's men are all-in Europe. And if they do not win the Europa League, United will arrive next season with only domestic worries.
The Lyon equal game is nice and ready after a 2-2 draw in France last week, a match that United had led 2-1 to another mistake by goalkeeper Andre Onana in the last moments.
But a 4-1 hammering to Champions League that purified Newcastle United on Sunday, dented their fragile trust.
Amorim also had to absorb a fresh injury with Joshua Zirkzee excluded because of a thigh injury sustained in the first half in St James' park. And he joined Matthijs de Ligt, Tobias Collyer, Ayden Heaven and Amad on the absent list.
