Ruben Amorim was not overburdening by Sporting Lisbon in January – but the Boss in Manchester United was set up in the summer a number of his former players to land some of his former players.
The Portuguese manager made the switch at the end of 2024 after several incredible years in the capital and won countless awards. Amorim had built an impressive team and after his move to Manchester was confirmed, there were inevitable ties with some of his familiar individuals.
The Premier League side has now reported scouts to view sportswoman Geovany Quenda prior to a possible movement in a matter of months. Recordclaim that United was present to view Quenda for the collision of Sporting against Porto on Friday.
Reports previously claimed that United had agreed a £ 50 million deal with the Portuguese side to land Quenda, but nothing has been officially confirmed.
In his last days, Amorim claimed as a sporting boss that he would not return in the new year to steal all their top talents – something he stood with.
“In January I don't get anyone from sport,” he said. “That's what I said, in the summer and I don't know what I'm going to do. The most important point is to hold until the summer. Second point, you can see that sporting players are great players. Let's see what will happen. “
His current target, Quenda, was at the youth academy of Benfica before he joined Sporting in 2019 at the age of 13. He became the youngest player ever who represented the Reserve team of Sporting at the age of 16.
Amorim told Sporting TV in July: “He is very talented, very mature and understands the game as an adult. He clearly has much to improve, but I think he had an excellent game and we have a player there.”
Another man United is strongly connected to Viktor Gyokeres, who has become one of the most productive fronts in Europe. The Swede was signed by Amorim after having made an impression in the championship with Coventry City and the last term scored 43 times.
Gyokees has remained productive and a number of European top clubs circling. His relationship with Amorim could be beneficial for the equipment of Manchester, who need a goal scorer. There have been reports of the search for around £ 60 million for the frontman.
