Rudy Galetti: Inter Milan plan big Jan market; Liverpool turn to Frimpong

INTER WANT TO RENEW THEIR ATTACK

Inter have shown renewed interest in Federico Chiesa as they seek information on a possible move in January. Meanwhile, Liverpool are focusing on ensuring Chiesa's full recovery, with manager Arne Slot seeing him as a valuable option for the second half of the season. However, Mohamed Salah's excellent form and ongoing contract extension talks with the Egyptian player could limit Chiesa's role at Anfield, creating uncertainty over his future at the club.

Inter are keen to capitalize on this ambiguity and position themselves as a strong candidate for the Italian winger. At the same time, the Nerazzurri are addressing potential departures within their squad, with clubs from Spain and Turkey keeping an eye on Marko Arnautovic, while Torino have shown interest in Joaquin Correa as they look to strengthen their attack. Should Chiesa come to Inter, the Italian club is prepared to release one of these attackers.

Simone Inzaghi sees Chiesa as a versatile player who can adapt to his tactical system and add speed and creativity to the attack. However, Chiesa would like to establish himself at Liverpool and is working hard to get back into top form: Federico would like to have more space in the second half of the season and he will speak clearly to Slot by the end of the year, I have confirmation of this .

JONATHAN DAVID'S FUTURE BETWEEN SERIES A AND PREMIER LEAGUE

Jonathan David is set to become one of the most sought-after strikers in next summer's transfer market as the Lille striker will be available on a free transfer. His agent, Nick Mavromaras, has been working for weeks to gauge interest and explore possible deals, but the demands are high.

David's camp is demanding more than €10 million in commissions and a salary starting from €6 million per year for a minimum contract of four to five years. Arsenal have been monitoring David for some time now and list him as one of their summer targets, even though Dusan Vlahovic and Alexander Isak are currently the priority options for the Gunners.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also recently held talks with David's entourage, expressing their interest and maintaining contact as they assess their attacking options.

However, the club making the biggest progress this summer is Inter. Led by Giuseppe Marotta – known for his expertise in securing free agents – the Nerazzurri are doing everything they can to secure David's signature. Inter recently met Mavromaras during their Champions League clash with RB Leipzig, confirming David is their top priority for June.

With Arnautovic and Correa's contracts set to expire in 2025, Inter view the Canadian as an ideal addition to join Lautaro Martinez, Thuram and Taremi in their attacking line-up. The race remains open, but the Italian club is positioning itself as the frontrunner in this pursuit.

MATTHIAS JAISSLE ON THE WEST HAM SHORT LIST

Matthias Jaissle has emerged as a candidate on West Ham's shortlist as a potential replacement should the club decide to part ways with Julen Lopetegui. Although no formal offer has been made yet, West Ham are keeping a close eye on the German coach, with first contact expected soon.

Jaissle has been included on the list for his dynamic approach and progressive football philosophy, qualities that West Ham see as crucial in fostering a new culture at the club. His reputation for implementing modern tactics and developing young talent makes him an attractive option for a managerial overhaul. For the moment, however, Jaissle remains committed to his role at Al Ahli: since taking charge a season and a half ago, he has established himself as a key figure in the Saudi Pro League, with a contract that runs until the summer of 2026.

This means that any club interested in his services will have to negotiate a release fee with Al Ahli. While his focus remains on his current team, the prospect of competing in the Premier League could be enticing, making this a situation to keep a close eye on as West Ham consider their next steps.

FRIMPONG OPEN FOR LEAVING LEVERKUSEN

Jeremy Frimpong continues to attract interest from Europe's top clubs as one of the most sought-after right-backs on the market. Liverpool in particular have identified him as their main target if they cannot convince Trent Alexander-Arnold to extend his contract.

Although no formal offers have been made yet, the Reds remain in regular contact with Frimpong's representatives. In fact, they are determined to push for Alexander-Arnold's extension, but if progress stalls, Liverpool are expected to intensify their efforts to secure Frimpong as his successor.

Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on Frimpong and include him on their shortlist to strengthen the right-back position. The Spanish club is waiting to meet with Carlo Ancelotti to determine its strategy, especially as they assess the feasibility of signing Alexander-Arnold. In the Premier League, Manchester City's interest in Frimpong remains, although Rico Lewis' strong performances have reduced the urgency to immediately find a right-back.

For his part, Frimpong is open to a transfer, but a January move seems unlikely. Bayer Leverkusen's valuation of over €55 million makes a winter transfer a challenge given the limited time for negotiations, while a summer move is more likely as clubs prepare to meet Leverkusen's demands for one of Europe's most interesting full-backs.

BALLON d'OR FACTOR AS SALAH AND LIVERPOOL WORK TOWARDS RENEWAL

Liverpool and Mohamed Salah have started serious talks over a possible contract extension. For his part, Salah has expressed his willingness to negotiate, stressing the need for a minimum two-year deal as a basis for further talks.

Besides financial terms, one of the main factors driving Salah's potential decision to stay is his ambition to win the Ballon d'Or, a lifelong dream. While he remains a top target for PIF and the Saudi Pro League, Salah is inspired by Liverpool's strong performances under Arne Slot and his excellent form this season. These elements reinforce his belief that staying at Liverpool offers the best chance of competing for the prestigious French football prize.

A move to Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, would likely complicate his chances for such recognition. Liverpool are keen to conclude a deal quickly to avoid any risk of Salah being tempted by a lucrative pre-contract offer from Saudi Arabia as a free agent. The club have made it clear that they are willing to meet Salah's demands, knowing that this would have to be the “last” major contract with a top European club.

Although no deal has yet been reached, Liverpool's proactive approach indicates they are determined to find a solution that secures Salah's future at Anfield in the medium term.
