
Arsenal -striker Alessia Russo admitted that there is 'a big gap' between the Gunners and Women's Super League leaders Chelsea with nine games that are still going in the season.
Defending champion Chelsea are undefeated this campaign and have 37 points of 13 games, while Manchester United lags seven points in second place and Arsenal in third place with 27 points.
The blues have won the WSL title in each of the past five seasons, with Arsenal for the last time the silverware in 2018-19.
“It is clear that we are realistic and we understand that there is now a big gap, but we are still pushing and we have a huge end to the season,” Russo told Sky News.
The 26-year-old has scored seven league goals for Arsenal this season, where only Khadija Shaw of Manchester City scored more (nine).
This season Arsenal is also contrary to the FA Cup and Women's Champions League titles.

The Renee SLES side will be confronted with Liverpool in the FA Cup Quarte finals on 9 March, while taking it against Real Madrid in the two-legged quarterfinals of the Champions League later next month.
“We are still in the Champions League, we are still in the FA Cup and we are still insisting on the competition. I think every game from now is until the end of the season and absolutely as a club we want To win trophies, “said Russo.
“As a player I want to win trophies, so we know what we have left in this season, we do everything we can to win.”
They will be opposite North -London Rivals Tottenham in the WSL while they want to cut the gap to the Chelsea of Sonia Bompastor.
