Ruud Van Nistelrooy points finger for Jamie Vardy and Leicester’s record-breaking struggles

Ruud van Nistelrooy says that Jamie Vardy is not the fault of the goal shortage of Leicester City.

The chief of the foxes has acquitted the 38-year-old sniper for the failure of his party to find the net.

Leicester City set an unwanted top record against Brentford and became the first club in history to go six home games without scoring. They also have the current lowest XG in the Premier League.

Vardy goes through one of his most bald spells for the goal – but Van Nistelrooy says he can't make his own chances. And he has called on his more creative players to come up with a suitable delivery line for the ex-England International.

He said: “We must ensure that we continue to create opportunities for our attacking players. That's for sure. You cannot give a cross to yourself and score.

“So you have to build it up from behind, or you have to make a good counterattack, or make a good set to offer your attacking players opportunities. That is a collective thing. I have no doubt that when those opportunities are there, he will take them. '

Vardy is the top scorer of the Foxes this year with seven Premier League attacks. But he just found it only once during a line of one win in 11 games – which came to Spurs during the 2-1 victory.

He has played for more minutes this season than during the entire campaign with his boss and so on Maresca. Van Nistelrooy said, however, that there was no problem with the workload of his attacker.

He added: “It is not necessary to manage his minutes. He trains – and does everything. He competes with all his teammates. He does the same work that they all do. He is our captain. He will lead us. His minutes are no problem. “

Van Nistelrooy described the defeat at West Ham as a game of different halves. Leicester was Abject in the first 45 minutes and gave two goals that eventually cost them the game.

Without a FA Cup -Stropdas, the former Real Madrid attacker enjoyed the best part of two weeks on the training field.

He added: “You have to take advantage of this time. We have had five sessions here to prepare for the game. Every second we used. You have to recover from a bad result and rise again. This team can do it.

“We are not the only club in this situation in which we are dealing with loss after loss. More teams do that around us, so we have to make sure we are ready again.

“We have to put together our game model. We didn't make as much as we wanted. We looked at our defensive model.

“I watched the Chelsea game on Thursday. They are in a fight to be eligible for the Champions League. It is a big task for us. “
