Manchester United Class of '92 stars Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt were among the celebrities who appeared to be Gala Diner for children Gala Diner on Thursday evening for the inaugural champions.
The Blitish event was held in Victoria Warehouse alongside Old Trafford and raised money for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and Foundation 92, the class of '92 backed charity.
Giggs and Butt were accompanied by their former United teammates Wes Brown, Phil Bardsley and Darron Gibson, as well as a large number of TV celebrities.
The evening started with a video with the work of the work that both charities do, and the difference that the collected money will make to young people in the northwest.
Among the lottery prizes was a one-off appearance on Gary Neville's The Overlap Podcast, and there was a version of a nine-part soul band.
Foundation 92 was founded by the class of 92 in 2018. The charity works in Salford and the Greater Manchester area with a number of different community groups that improve lives through sports, education and tailor-made projects, with the emphasis on positive physical and mental well-being.
The foundation supports the wider community and offers help to those who live with extra needs and disabilities, those who tackle homelessness and young people who run the risk of committing offenses.
Yvonne Harrison, chairman of the Trustees at Foundation 92 said: 'It was incredible to see that so many people come together tonight to collect vital funds for both Foundation 92 and Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
“Tonight will make a real difference for so many young people in Greater Manchester and enable us to continue our work in the community, so thank you.”
The collected funds will also support two projects in Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, the largest and busiest children's hospital in the country, which ensures more than 285,000 children and young people from all over Manchester and the northwest every year.
Kathy Cowell Obe, chairman of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital said: 'It has been a privilege to attend the Champions for Children Gala dinner tonight.
'On behalf of our patients, families and employees, I would like to thank every person who helped to increase such a fantastic amount to support the children and young people we care about in the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Thank you for making a difference and for helping our patients on their journey to the full, lively and independent life. '
