The Liverpool agent -midfielder Ryan Gravenberch responded to a fan who accused him of being “disrespectful” after comments he made about a potential move to Real Madrid
Ryan Gravenberch's agent told angry Liverpool fans to “stay calm” after he had spoken to a potential move to Real Madrid. So far, Gravenberch has enjoyed an excellent campaign and became an important player under Arne Slot when Liverpool turns the title of the Premier League.
No player has made more starts for Liverpool this season than the 43 of Gravenberch, a remarkable figure who equals him with club captain Virgil van Dijk and Ster Vooruit Mohamed Salah.
However, the Spanish agent of the midfielder Jose Fortes seemed to make doubts. “He is good enough for Real Madrid,” Fortes told Marca.
“We would like him to play for them, but Liverpool would ask for a lot of money. I know they have kept an eye on him, but now it is impossible.”
It is not surprising that Fortes' comments did not go well with Liverpool supporters and one of them confronted him on Instagram. “Liverpool is the largest club in the world,” the fan smoked.
“If you don't respect us, leave. Our club is bigger than you and your customer. We love and support him, but this is disrespectful.”
Fortes then responded to the fan in an attempt to clarify his comments and stated: “I am Spanish, it is my dream club, not Ryan's dream club. He is really very happy, and if you ask Ryan, he will agree with you, no stress, stay calm.”
And Gravenberch enjoys his time in Liverpool so far, in which the midfielder recently stated that he “loves” to work with lock. “Of course, last year was a major adjustment for me, transferring clubs and settled in a new country,” he told Club Media earlier this month.
“It takes time. This season I play more, I feel more confident and physically I am better in shape. And to be honest, I believe that I have taken better care of myself in terms of recovery and diet.
“I can do very well with him (lock).
“Plus, I love his playing style, construction from behind – that's how I was brought up. The manager saw potential in me as a number six and I think it has gone pretty well so far.
“It had to adjust my game, especially defensively, but I am quite happy with my development so far. Of course there is always room for improvement, for example I have to get better in anticipating playing, being proactive instead of reactive.
“Sometimes I notice that I am waiting to see where the ball lands, but if I could anticipate better, I would beat my opponent with it. That is definitely something I am working on.”
