
Arsenal is preparing for a huge quarter -final collision of the Champions League against Real Madrid and Sterman Bukayo Saka has made it clear that it is the biggest game he will have played for the club
Bukayo Saka has made it clear to his Arsenal teammates that Tuesday evening the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Real Madrid is the biggest match of his time at the club. The Fit-Again England star is expected to make its first start for the Gunners since December against the Spanish giants who have recovered from a hamstring operation in the nick of time.
And asked about the eve of the collision to rank where the fixture is the most important of its career, Saka said: “I think it will probably be yes in an Arsenal shirt.” Saka appeared in two European championship final for England and lost on both occasions.
He also spoke about a new contract. Although he has spent more than two years over his current deal, Arsenal wants to tie the star of his own soil to a much longer contract.
And Saka said: “I want to win and I want to win by wearing this badge. It is pretty clear, the fans know how much I love them.
“You saw when I came up on Tuesday (against Fulham), they love me back. So it's a good relationship. I am really happy to be here and I am focused on winning.
“I don't think anyone is really in a hurry. I have two more years left on my contract, so it is pretty relaxed. Everyone knows my thoughts and I let you know, so I don't think there is really much different.”
Mikel Arteta, who is without defender Gabriel because of a seasonal hamstring injury, has no worries of the draw to Everton on Saturday.
And asked about the condition of Saka after two replacement performances since his comeback, Arteta said: “He is in a much better place.
“We gradually built his minutes in the past six or seven days. He handled that very well and he is in a good place to be used.”
