Salah and Fernandes head shortlist for PFA Player of the Year award

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Manchester United Captain Bruno Fernandes are among the players on the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year Award of 2024-25.

The prize is voted by the players at the end of each season, whereby the winner will be announced on 19 August during a ceremony.

Salah's Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister is also mentioned, together with Arsenal's Declan Rice, Chelsea's Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

The Reds Talisman, who previously won the prize in 2017-18 and 2021-22, is expected to cancel the title of this year and be the first player to win three times.

Salah registered 47 targets in the Premier League during the 2024-25 season (29 goals, 18 assists), the joint-mast once by a player in a campaign in the history of the competition, alongside Andy Cole in 1993-94 and Alan Shearer in 1994-95.

The 33-year-old also claimed his fourth golden boot and went up most with Thierry Henry in the Premier League, who controlled him for this year's balloon d'Or.
