Salah’s criticised by Muslim fans after LFC star shares Christmas family picture

Mohamed Salah has been criticized again by his Muslim followers after posting a photo of him and his family in front of a Christmas tree.

The Liverpool star, who is Muslim, captioned the photo with '#MerryChristmas'.

As has become tradition for him, his wife Magi and daughters Makka and Kayan posed in matching pajamas for his Christmas post, smiling in front of their tree and a gingerbread person.

Muslims do not traditionally celebrate Christmas, but some do participate in the festivities that take place during the Christian holiday.

“You let me down bro,” one user wrote on Instagram, where Salah shared the message with his 63.7 million followers.

“Delete this right now,” another posted, while a third wrote: “Right now I'm just disappointed in you bro.”

Another said: “We Muslim people look up to you and you do this in return,” accompanied by three crying emojis.

Others jumped to Salah's defense, with one fan writing: 'Merry Christmas Mo. Ignore all these idiots. I hope you and your family are having a well-deserved holiday season.”

Another wrote: 'In what has become an annual tradition on Christmas Day, I spend an hour reading and enjoying the comments on the post. Never disappoints.'

Salah has been in brilliant form this season, scoring 15 goals and picking up 11 assists this season, meaning he is leading the race for the golden boot.

After starring in Liverpool's last match against Tottenham, he became the first ever Premier League player to register ten goals and assists before Christmas.

He is set to play for the Reds against Leicester on Boxing Day, but that has not stopped fans from criticizing his position.

One posted: 'With all the warnings you went ahead and posted this shameless pose of yours. May Allah protect you until the ryt part. For now I will unfollow you from every platform and block you as well. You are disgraceful. I'll also stop forever to watch the Liverpool game.'

Another wrote: 'Mark my words, you will not score a goal until the end of the season because of the disrespect towards our beloved prophet SAW and the entire Muslim community.'
