Saudi Arabia moving for two more Barcelona starlets after contract talks stall

Barcelona is confronted with an offensive from Saudi Arabia for some of their talented young people. After it was announced that Unai Hernandez would leave the club in the coming days, two of their La Masia stars could follow him to the Middle East.

The Saudi Giganten Al-Actihad are in conversation with Barcelona in January about a takeover of Hernandez, but the Blaugrana will at least earn some money from the deal. That is not the case for Pau Prim. The 18-year-old midfielder, once labeled as a long-term option at the basis of midfield after Sergio Busquets made the switch, was left outside the Barca Atletic matches in 2025, after he refused to sign a new contract with the club. .

Prim's contract expires in 2025 and can sign a provisional contract with other clubs. Sport says that Saudi Pro League newcomer Al-Qadsiah hopes to be his new club and has opened conversations with him. The likely conclusion is that Prim leaves Barcelona, and although he also has an offer from Belgium, Al-Qadsiah will make it worthwhile.

Arnau Pradas is another 18-year-old talent that could be on their way to Saudi Arabia. The winger played twice this season for Barca Atletic, but played mainly for Under 19 and scored three goals this summer in the UEFA Youth League. It is assumed that Pradas would like to extend at Barcelona, and his contract is also going down this summer, but the distance between Barcelona's range and his requirements leads him to consider other options, including Al-Qadsiah again.

At one point, the Premier League was the great threat to Barcelona to retain their young talent, when players such as Hector Bellerin, CESC Fabregas and Gerard Pique all moved to England in succession. However, the money that is offered in the Middle East will probably be much larger than what the Blaugrana can or want to offer.
