Saudis set to offer Mo Salah £65MILLION for two seasons as Turki Alalshikh posts pic of Liverpool star in Al-Hilal kit

SAUDI ARABIA'S leaders are tempting Mo Salah to leave Liverpool this summer with a staggering £65million reward for just TWO seasons in the desert.

One of the Gulf state's most powerful figures fueled the story by posting a photo of Salah wearing an Al-Hilal shirt.

Turki Alalshikh, who masterminded Saudi Arabia's effective takeover of professional boxing, holds a ministerial role in the Kingdom's government and is also chairman of the state's General Entertainment Authority.

A close ally of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the nation's effective ruler, he signaled Al-Hilal's determination to land Salah ahead of their appearance in this summer's newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup.

Given the costs involved, this would only be possible with the approval of bin Salman and the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

FIFA chiefs have given participating clubs an extra transfer window to sign players in time for the competition, which starts in mid-June, before the normal contract expiry at the end of that month.

And it has now emerged that the Saudis are prepared to offer Salah a mouth-watering sum if he agrees to cut his ties with Liverpool and move to the Riyadh-based club.

Salah's failure to agree a new contract with Liverpool – and public comments about his “final season” at Anfield – have increased doubts about his desire to sign a new contract at Anfield.

The clouds hanging over his future have not stopped Salah from having perhaps the best season of his career at Liverpool, with a Prem leader who has 18 goals and 13 assists to his name so far.

If Salah runs out of the last few months of his current deal without signing a new deal, he could leave for free.

The Egyptian is the iconic Muslim player in world football and his arrest would be a huge coup for the SPL and further evidence of the fledgling league's financial clout and cachet.

Salah has amassed an impressive 232 goals and 105 assists in 378 appearances since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017.

The star winger has won one Premier League title, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the Champions League with the Reds.
